Maria Grace: Ten Things Game

Thank you Maria Grace, for consenting to be my guest today. It is a great pleasure to have you here and share the ten things game about your characters with us. It is fun getting to know them better! Thank you again and welcome!

Thanks so much for hosting me Janet! I’d love to share a ten things game passed to me by Grace Elliot. The idea is to share ten things about a main character that readers might not already know.

So, let’s start with 10 things about Fitzwilliam Darcy in All the Appearance of Goodness.

Favorite Color: The blue of the sky over Pemberley on a clear day in spring.

Favorite Animal:  His horse

Favorite Number:  one, but that might be changing to two

Favorite Non-alcoholic Drink: Coffee, tea is fine, but there is something about the bite of coffee that is particularly appealing

Facebook or Twitter?  Neither really, both are rather intimidating, though he might read Facebook, he would be unlikely to post much

His Passion: Protecting those he loves

Giving or getting presents: Giving, getting gifts puts too much attention on him and that is uncomfortable

Favorite Day: Monday morning when the structure of the work week can start again and the chaos of the weekend subsides.

Favorite Flowers:
Honeysuckle because they remind him of Elizabeth

Favorite Book: His father’s journals because he feels close to his father when he reads them

Now 10 things about Elizabeth Bennet.

Favorite Color:
Green like the leaves on Oakham Mt.

Favorite Animal:
Dogs; their playful and loyal nature make them perfect companions

Favorite Number:  5, with five sisters in the family, what number could be better?

Favorite Non-alcoholic Drink:
Lemonade, the combination of sweet and tart is so intriguing!

Facebook or Twitter?  Twitter, no doubt

Her Passion: Learning and understanding the world beyond the limits of what is proper for a gentlewoman

Giving or getting presents: She would say it was giving them, but she secretly loves to receive them.

Favorite Day: Any day she can start with a quiet ramble in the woods.

Favorite Flowers: Roses just like her mother grows.

Favorite Book:  Whatever she is currently reading, especially if there’s someone to discuss it with her.

And finally, my favorite original character, Vicar John Bradley.

Favorite Color: The rose and oranges of the sunrise

Favorite Animal:
Cats, especially those that sit on your lap and purr

Favorite Number:  Three and seven for all their spiritual significance

Favorite Non-alcoholic Drink: Tea with sugar

Facebook or Twitter?  Neither, face to face conversations for him

His Passion: People and loving them without reservation

Giving or getting presents: Definitely giving

Favorite Day: Sunday mornings

Favorite Flowers: Lilies for Easter

Favorite Book: The Old Testament book of Proverbs, so much bery practical advice there!

Thanks for joining me in getting to know my characters just a little better.

Author bio

Though Maria Grace has been writing fiction since she was ten years old, those early efforts happily reside in a file drawer and are unlikely to see the light of day again, for which many are grateful.

She has one husband, two graduate degrees and two black belts, three sons, four undergraduate majors, five nieces, six cats, seven Regency-era fiction projects and notes for eight more writing projects in progress. To round out the list, she cooks for nine in order to accommodate the growing boys and usually makes ten meals at a time so she only cooks twice a month.

This game was much fun, Maria. Thank you, again,  for this most entertaining post and for letting us get to know your characters a bit better. Maria will be hosting a giveaway with my review of All the Appearance of Goodness, which will post it in a few days! Watch for details then.

What do you think of the 10 things about these characters? Did you learn anything new? Let us know in your comment.

    1. Hi, Tess, thanks for stopping by. I agree that the question/answer info did make the characters seem more real. I seem to think of them as if they are anyway! :)

  4. I haven't come across this particular game before for characters. What a fun idea! I do love that Darcy's passion is his protecting those he loves. That is so lovely. And I love that Elizabeth's favourite colour is green, as it is also mine!

    1. Darcy's protective behavior of those he loves is just one of the many things we 'love' about him, isn't it! I liked reading these things and the extras for some of them, like for Lizzy, the dogs and lemonade. For Darcy, the reasons for liking the journals, coffee, his favorite day and flower. All of those were neat reasons.
