Mystery Man #1 Revealed!

All of the comments that were left on the Calendar 2017 Austen Men in Film + 2 post were fun and exciting for me. You really had some good guesses and wonderful thoughts. I appreciate all of them. I have decided to go ahead and reveal Mystery Man #1 today. Some of you were right on, but then as many posts as I have recently done about North & South fan-fiction, I figured some of you would guess that one was indeed, John Thornton.

Richard Armitage did such a fantastic job showing the feelings and emotions written of John Thornton by the author, Elizabeth Gaskell. They were subtle looks but spoke multitudes. I had a tough time deciding on the scene that I wanted to portray because there were so many good ones. I just knew I wanted it to have one of those fabulous expressions. Below is my artistic interpretation of his look when Margaret tells John of her wishes to loan him some of her inherited money to keep Marborough Mills running.

Again, if any of you want to preorder the calendar, it will be for the $10 cost. If you wait to order after the calendar is released, the price will be $12. You can let me know by using the contact form to the right of this post and below the 'Call Here' list. You can also email me at janet at jt-originals dot com. If you live in the US and want one calendar, I can ship it first class for $4, for a total of $14. If you want more than one, I will ship it priority mail for $6.45 plus the number ordered times 10. (priority mail is cheaper for more than one calendar)

If you live outside the US, first class shipping is $11.50.  For one calendar plus shipping it would run $21.50. I will double check that before I bill you. Several have already preordered and I will be contacting you. You can pay by credit card or PayPal. I accept both. Just let me know your preference.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me! I will do my best to answer your questions.

The calendar should be ready to ship sometime in November. Since I am drawing all pictures, it is taking me a bit longer this year.

Thank you for stopping by and I welcome your comments!

    2. So I was trying to be restrained and civilized- both admirable but highly overrated virtues. I say we run with that waterproof shower calendar- or at least laminate the month of Richarduary. I might like a copy of Firthember laminated, too.

    3. You are too funny, Nicole! I mean, why be restrained or civilized? That's no fun! I will consider a waterproof calendar or laminated pages! I LOVE Richarduary and Firthember! Cute!

  12. Very lovely artwork! Sigh, that jawline and visible neck....
No one will ever be John Thornton like Richard. He has owned the part for the century.
I'm so thrilled John Thornton has joined the venerable Austen leagues in this beautiful calendar project.
Long live literary heroes in cravats!

    1. I really wanted to draw one of the scenes with him in the red cravat, Trudy! I loved that one. I just think I love cravats, period!

I don't see how anyone could ever outdo Richard as John Thornton. He had every nuance down perfectly. He was definitely going to be included with the Austen men this year.

Thank you for the comments. I'm thrilled you like the art.

    1. He will always be Mr. Thornton to me, too, Becky. I agree that he would also make a good Mr. Darcy.

Oh good, that you saw this and liked it as the start to your day! I'm happy that you are pleased with this addition to the calendar. One of them just had to be Richard Armitage as John Thornton.
